     When people gave a personal testimony to Para Nunca Olvidar, Lotte Holmen guaranteed their absolute anonymity. Often they had never before spoken about their experiences to even close ones. They were afraid of the possible consequences of raising their voice. However they decided to share their innermost experiences and pains with the world through this web site and on radio.  
 
     One way of protecting the Mayans is not to use their names, never to mention any locality and not depict them or anything associated with their life. To avoid any misunderstandings all images on Para Nunca Olvidar have been edited to become faceless. While a rare but necessary decision it serves to emphasize the commonality of the suffering documented.
