"RCT has supported the project "Para Nunca
Olvidar", never to forget, because we consider it a very important project.
Collecting accounts and broadcasting them over the radio is a first and
a very important step towards breaking the silence of suppression, which
many people do not acknowledge. It is a pre-requisite for doing the necessary
psycho-social rehabilitation work, which is the next step.
Starting a debate on local radio about the horrors that took place - and
why it happened, is very important, while at the same time being a very
efficient media for reaching as many as possible of the large groups of
illiterates in Guatemala and a larger variety of groups - including youths."
